FAQ

Common questions.

If you have a question that is not answered here, reach out directly.

Do simulations affect production systems?

No. Simulations run in isolation without connecting to production systems, sending alerts, or triggering live infrastructure.

How long does a simulation take?

Most simulations take 30 to 60 minutes. The demo takes about 10 minutes. Duration depends on scenario complexity and team responses.

Who participates in a simulation?

Simulations include security teams, IT operations, engineering leads, and incident commanders. Run with a full team or individually.

How often should organizations run simulations?

Start with one baseline run. Quarterly runs are common for tracking improvement. Regulatory or recent incident contexts require more frequent runs.

What types of incidents can be simulated?

The platform includes ransomware, data breaches, outages, infrastructure failures, insider threats, and change failures. Upload real tickets from ConnectWise, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, or any ITSM platform to create simulations.

What happens after the simulation ends?

The platform generates an execution report with performance, timeline, policy compliance, coordination analysis, and comparison to previous runs, available immediately.

How is Povenos different from a tabletop exercise?

Tabletops are discussions; Povenos simulations are executed in real time. The output is a measured record of actions, not a discussion summary.

Do we need to define our procedures before running a simulation?

Yes. A defined policy enables measurement of compliance and deviations. Abby can help build it through plain-language interviews.

Who is Abby?

Abby is the policy intelligence layer inside Povenos. She analyzes uploaded governance documents, identifies gaps, and generates structured policy drafts. During sessions, she evaluates execution against policy requirements.

Does Povenos replace our existing incident management tools?

No. Povenos complements your stack. It tests whether teams can execute procedures when alerts fire, working alongside monitoring, alerting, and ticketing systems.
